Bios

Thom Stead has nearly a decade of experience in the transportation planning profession. He works on an array of mobility focused projects ranging from regional level transportation equity analysis to the design and implementation of quick-build bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure pilots. He holds a Masters in City and Regional Planning from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.  

Leah Kacanda is a certified planner with 10 years of planning, policy, and design experience. A regular bike commuter with a background in urban planning, her passion is integrating active transportation projects with locally driven community revitalization initiatives and placemaking. Kacanda is a senior planner with Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP. She holds degrees from Philadelphia University (now Jefferson) and a Masters in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Delaware. Kacanda led the development of Montgomery County’s Trail Access, Diversity, and Awareness Plan, which was developed out of a desire to ensure that the county’s trail network is accessible to all who wish to use it, whether for recreation or transportation.
